Why should I support SmartSoldier.com?
This site is run by soldiers for soldiers. We may be wearing green everyday, but not the kind of green needed to fund a project of this scale. Your membership helps us to continuously expand and improve as well. Plus, we give away great prizes to members that contribute by telling personal stories, writing articles and answering other members questions.

What happens when you add more features and your price goes up?
Since we are continuously growing to include more and more services to help you out, we may, in time, raise our membership fee. By joining NOW your cost is locked in at the original rate at which you joined, which is currently less than a magazine subscription!

Who runs this site? Is it run or endorsed by the U.S. military or government?
Beware- many seemingly unbiased military sites out there are run by the government for the purposes of recruiting, misinformation and even criminal investigation! SmartSoldier.com is totally independent, secure, and does not collect any personally-identifying information. All advisers have a minimum of 4 years of experience with one of the U.S. military service branches and contributors are held to an extremely high standard. Although most of us are still on active duty, some sections (such as veteran benefits) are run by soldiers that are currently cashing in on the college money they've earned.

What if I want to become a contributor?
If you feel that you are qualified write or advise on a specific topic we invite you to join us as a monthly member, see what we are all about and where your area of expertise fits in. Then simply submit your application through our simple interface. As soon as you are chosen to come aboard, we'll cancel your paid membership and issue you a free lifetime password. All contributors are entered in monthly drawings for awesome prizes!

Will anyone know that I'm a member? Do you collect any personal information within the site?
We understand that you may want to remain anonymous while searching for and discussing certain types of information, that is why we use an independent third-party billing service. They will securely process any personal information that is required for membership and allow you to create your own unique log in name which will be used to access the member area. From there you are welcome to tell as much or as little as you would like about yourself. We will never require that you publicly divulge any personally identifying information, although adding non-identifying information like service branch, duty status and job function sometimes helps members give you more personalized advice.
